A Book That Will Change Your Life: The Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung

 
THE OBESITY CODE by Dr. Jason Fung is a good book to read about the current obesity epidemic ravaging the world. The book contains valuable information about obesity and how it occurs in an individual. Though concepts discussed in this book are scientific and technical in nature, this book is light and easy to read even for a lay person. As such it makes my list of great books to read.

If you ever wondered why people become obese this is a must read book. It gives clear explanations about why people become obese. As a nephrologist Dr. Jason Fung provides a unique insight about the obesity epidemic not discussed in the mainstream. That in itself is valuable information if you want to avoid becoming obese or want to address your obesity.

Another topic discussed in this book is fasting. To be more specific: how fasting could be a solution to the obesity epidemic. Dr. Fung discusses all of this in this very good book to read: The Obesity Code.

THE OBESITY CODE BOOK REVIEW: THIS IS A BOOK THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Dr. Jason Fung in The Obesity Code first explains the problem in clear simple terms which is obesity is caused by hormone imbalance in the body, Something so rarely talked about in medical and health and fitness circles. To be more specific, Dr. Fung talks about insulin as the culprit of the obesity epidemic.

What I like about this book is it presents a fresh perspective and gives a new solution to the obesity epidemic according to the problem that was identified. The solution to obesity according to Dr. Fung is fasting, i.e. not eating for a specified period of time. That might seem like a no brainer but he explains in great detail why fasting works and why everyone should be fasting (obese or not).
In truth, I find that this book is more about how to keep yourself healthy and not become obese rather than a discussion of obesity. Although, that is part of the discussion, I think that Dr. Fung just used that as a key to segue into a discussion of the benefits of fasting.

HOW THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE?

This book will change your life because it will make you understand the mechanism as to why people get fat. I realized how woefully inadequate the mainstream explanation of why people get fat. Dr. Fung's explanations make absolute sense. It explains why some people get fat no matter how little and how much they exercise, and why some people despite of how much they eat don't get fat.

If you're not obese don't skip this book! It's important that you read this. Prevention is better than cure. As you'll see when you read The Obesity Code, once you're obese it's very hard to go back to normal.
